For the 3rd straight week, the Indians found themselves battling it out in wet conditions on a Friday night. The rain would not dampen the moods of the Indians or their seniors as they celebrated a 33-14 victory on Senior Night. The Indians took a 14-0 lead into the half on pass plays from Clay Schmitz to Regan Martin (10 yards) and Jacob Acheson (40 yards). Coming out of the half, the Indians picked up where they left off as Riley Pearson took the kick 86 yards to the house. After a 3 and out, the offense wasted no time driving down the field and finding the end zone again. On the 3 yard line, the Indians used their own version of the Philly Special when Clayton Pearson found Clay Schmitz for the touchdown. Leading 27-0, the Tigers managed to punch in a score to make it 27-7. The Indians used another trick play to add to their lead, on the first play of the 4th quarter. From their own 24 yard line, Schmitz connected with Martin for a 5 yard pass or it seemed. Martin flipped the ball to Gavin Thobe who took it the rest of the way for the touchdown, executing the hook and latter to perfection. Versailles would add another score but that would be it as the Indians secured the 33-14 win.
Clay Schmitz- 226 yards passing and 3 TD’s
Gavin Thobe- 99 yards receiving
Mitchell Pugh- 8 tackles (2 for loss)
Owen Sheridan- 7 tackles (3 for loss)
Thank you seniors for 4 great years and all you have accomplished on the gridiron.
